Nearly a decade after the release of his critically-acclaimed sci-fi drama Primer, Shane Carruth returns with enigmatic romantic thriller UPSTREAM COLOR. Jeff (Carruth) and Kris (Amy Seimetz) find themselves drawn together after their lives have been compromised by a the lifecycle of an ageless organism. As emotional and atmospheric as Primer was clinical, UPSTREAM COLOR plays with genre and narrative form to invite audiences into discussions of collective memory, love and fundamental togetherness.
